Definitely some rough edges here but a bit of progress has been made! This painting is part of the "food" series, a daughter not so impressed with escargots on her first try in a cafe in Paris. She said "Since I am in Paris I have to try either frog's legs or escargots". And so she did.

Coral Triangle/Indian Ocean endangered corals

This is watercolor, ink and beeswax on wood board, showing a few of the approximately 500 types of endangered coral that can be found in the tropical waters around the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands and Timor-Leste. The top shows coral spawning.

Reef Building Coral show at Ghost Gallery

An amazing amount was learned by getting ready for this show! I spent a couple months researching coral and realized that scientists are also scrambling to quickly learn about these amazing animals with a symbiotic relationship to plants. Coral reefs are being destroyed so quickly by the warming of the oceans, the habitat they provide to so many species is being destroyed as well.
