Punch Gallery, formerly of Seattle's Pioneer Square area, is doing some interesting projects in rural areas of Washington. This painting is my mixing of fairy tales and childhood memories with my sister.
These three paintings are origainally inspired by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's speech in Congress after being harassed on the steps of the Capital Building by two congressmen. It is a reflection on what women have to navigate in this world (snakes, sharks, toads) as they go about doing their work.
These images are from the Ghost Gallery show in 2017 titled "Bell Jar". The small hand stitched books inside the glass bell jars were composed of drawings, favorite written song lyrics, and collaged elements, all preserved with beeswax and damar resin. Revisiting these for the sculptural elements for a show
